Ms. Cunningham brings more than 20 years of exchange expertise in the field of LKE services. Her experience comes from direct involvement with thousands of tax-deferred exchanges of diverse assets, including FCC Licenses, Trademarks, Commercial Aircraft, Pipelines, Automobile Fleets and every type of real property. Ms. Cunningham is a frequent lecturer at real estate and tax forums across the country on the topic of tax-deferred exchange strategies and has represented her industry on various legislative issues with the IRS National Office, members of the House of Representatives and the United States Senate. Ms. Cunningham earned her B.S. in Finance from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and is a 1996 graduate of the American Bankers Association National Graduate Trust School and holds the Certified Exchange Specialist® designation. Since 1989, CDEC has been the nation’s premier provider of IRC Section 1031 Like-Kind Exchange services, with offices in Chicago, San Diego and San Francisco. Robert Glantz began his Internal Revenue Service career in 1991 as a tax fraud investigative aide with the Criminal Investigation Division. He was promoted to the Special Agent position in 1993. Criminal Investigation serves the American public by investigating potential criminal violations of the Internal Revenue Code and related financial crimes in a manner that fosters confidence in the tax system and compliance with the law.

Special Agent Glantz is currently the public information officer for IRS Criminal Investigation's, Newark Field Office, disseminating noteworthy information to the public. Special Agent Glantz frequently speaks about IRS-Criminal Investigations to professional organizations, as well as college and high school students.

Prior to becoming the Public Information Officer, Special Agent Glantz spent 10 years specializing in public corruption investigations pertaining to tax matters and related financial crimes. He has also participated in a myriad of other tax fraud investigations, including those of unscrupulous tax return preparers, individuals who embezzled funds from their employers, as well as business owners skimming cash from their businesses.

Miriam Golden is Senior Vice President and Associate General Counsel of Chicago Deferred Exchange Company. Ms. Golden joined CDEC in 1991 and during her career has facilitated tens of thousands of exchanges of real and personal property for corporate, institutional and individual taxpayers. She possesses particular expertise in reverse exchanges, complex partnership issues and REIT issues in the context of IRC Section 1031. Prior to joining CDEC, Ms. Golden worked as a technical advisor for Chicago Title Insurance Company. Ms. Golden earned her B.A. from the University of Illinois at Urbana‐Champaign and her J.D. from IIT Chicago – Kent College of Law. She is actively involved in the Chicago chapter of CREW and is a member of the Chicago Bar Association and the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts (NAREIT).

Barry has over 30 years of professional accounting experience and works in Withum's New York office. He is the team leader of Withum’s Tax Services State and Local Tax Group and advises clients in residency and nexus issues, entity level taxes, sales and use taxes and other business and personal tax matters. He also counsels clients in strategic planning, transaction reviews, risk assessment, tax law compliance and corporate restructuring. As an active member of the New York State Society of CPAs (NYSSCPA) and the NJCPA, he lectures on tax issues to chapters and to organizations including Baruch College and CW Post College. He is a current member of the NYSSCPA’s Multistate & Local Taxation Committee and served as chairman in prior years. He is also a member of the NJCPA’s State Taxation Interest Group. He was formerly an appointed member of the Commissioner’s Advisory Council for both the NYS Department of Taxation & Finance and the NYC Department of Finance. He is a contributor for The Trusted Professional as well as several other industry and professional publications. He was also a former editor of The CPA Journal.

Jeffrey Schechter, chair of the firm's Tax Controversy Department, has a varied practice in the areas of tax, tax controversies, trusts and estates and corporate law. He represents clients at all stages of disputes with the Internal Revenue Service, the New Jersey Division of Taxation and the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance including audits, administrative appeals and tax litigation. Most recently Jeff has assisted many clients with domestic and offshore Voluntary Disclosures and examinations concerning income and assets not reported to the IRS. On the corporate side, he concentrates on commercial transactions, including the purchase, sale or restructuring of businesses, stock transactions, mergers and corporate agreements as well as advising clients on the tax aspects of such transactions. He also regularly represents clients concerning estate planning, estate administration and estate tax controversies. Jeff is a frequent lecturer at Rutgers Law School, ABA Tax Section Meetings as well as the New Jersey Society of CPAs on a variety of tax and corporate matters. Prior to joining Cole Schotz, he was a manager in the National Tax Department of the international accounting firm of Ernst & Young in Washington, D.C., where he specialized in advising clients on the tax aspects of complex corporate transactions including tax-free reorganizations, tax-exempt organizations and federal tax procedure and controversies, as well as newly enacted or proposed tax legislation. For twenty years, Jeff served on the Board of Trustees of the New Jersey Community Development Corporation, a tax-exempt organization in Paterson which specializes in various programs throughout the State of New Jersey including seven as Chairman. These programs include participation in the Americorp National Service Program, operating housing projects for developmentally disabled persons and increasing employment opportunities for economically disadvantaged youths. Jeff received his B.B.A. from The George Washington University, his J.D., with honors, from The George Washington University School of Law, and his LL.M. in Taxation from Georgetown University Law Center.
