Mr. Lion possesses over 25 years of experience in public accounting and is an authority in the areas of taxation, estate, financial and retirement planning. His current roster of clients includes high net worth individuals and business owners in the health care, investment banking, real estate and other professional areas. Prior to joining WeiserMazars he was the founder of Lion & Company, CPAs LLP a highly competitive accounting & consulting firm specializing in individual, corporate, trust, partnership, and estate taxation. He was also a supervisor at a Big 4 accounting firm’s personal financial services group as well as later working at a large New York accounting firm. Mr. Lion advises numerous health care providers on a wide range of tax, personal finance, business advisory and practice management issues. In addition to speaking before medical societies and a variety of groups in the health care industry, Mr. Lion has served as an adjunct professor at Hofstra University, teaching Healthcare Economics in the university’s Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) program. Mr. Lion received his degree in Economics from SUNY Albany and his Master of Business Administration with a dual concentration in Accountancy and Taxation from Hofstra University. He previously served as President of National CPA Health Care Advisors Association (CHCAA). He also serves as treasurer for Chillin’ with Adam – the Adam Gaynes Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.

John E. Morrone, Esq.,, is a partner in the healthcare department with a focus on transactional and regulatory law. He joined Frier Levitt in 2008 following over twenty years as a senior healthcare executive, holding positions with academic medical centers, and private and publicly-traded physician practice management companies, and healthcare consulting groups. John received his Juris Doctorate from Seton Hall Law School and graduated cum laude. He also holds an MBA from Baruch College/Mount Sinai Medical School in Hospital and Healthcare Administration. Due in great measure to his administrative healthcare background, Mr. Morrone works with many of Frier Levitt's clients in the development of business strategies. He also represents clients with Medicare and Medicaid audits, OIG and OMIG Complaints, and licensing board disciplinary matters. In addition to these, John also works on assisting pharmacies with their marketers, marketing materials, employment agreements, and HIPAA plans.
