Citrin Cooperman, New York, admitted John C. Genz, CPA, as a senior tax partner. The firm also awarded 10 students with scholarships as part of the firm’s 9th Annual High School Accounting/Business Student Grant Program. 

Lassus Wherley, New Providence, received the Women's Choice Award for Financial Advisors from WomenCertified, Inc.

RotenbergMeril, Saddle Brook, named Erika Agatone, CPA, a partner in the firm.

Rothstein Kass, New York, promoted Jay C. Shepulski, CPA, to principal in the firm.

WeiserMazars LLP, New York, promoted Bridget M. Day, CPA, to an equity partner in the firm and admitted Salvatore A. Collemi, CPA, to the firm as a director in its assurance practice as a member of the Technical Resource Group. Howard Altman, CPA, Rothstein Kass, Roseland, was named treasurer of the Managed Funds Association for the third consecutive year.

Saul G. Berkowitz, CPA, McGladrey LLP, New York, received the ORT Community Achievement Award and the Marion G. Wingens Memorial Award for his professional accomplishments and support of ORT’s students and worldwide programs.

Employees of CohnReznick LLP, Roseland, participated in the firm’s 12th annual employee Bowl-A-Thon benefiting Make-A-Wish New Jersey, raising more than $105,000.

The Curchin Group, Red Bank, hosted its Eighth Annual Curchin Open, a nine-hole miniature golf tournament, raising more than $16,000 to benefit two local charities.

Kevin J. Hansen, CPA, Hunter Group CPA LLC, Fair Lawn, was named to Fidelity Investments’ Advisor Council.

Hunter Group CPA LLC, Fair Lawn, was recognized by CPAmerica International as a founding member of the association.

Diahann Lassus, CPA, Lassus Wherley, New Providence, was named to The CNBC Financial Advisor Council.

Employees of Levine, Jacobs & Company, LLC, Livingston, participated in the firm’s annual Walk for Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD). Team Blackwell for PKD Research, spearheaded by Robert J. Blackwell, CPA, raised more than $7,000.

The Sax Macy Fromm Foundation, donated $62,000 from its Second Annual 4 Miler at Garret Mountain to St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital.

Employees of Sobel & Co., LLC, Livingston, participated in the firm’s annual In-service Day, working in Sea Bright in conjunction with Jersey Cares, to clean up several miles of beach.
