The Social Security system is overwhelming and there are plenty of new rules. Learn about the various Social Security benefits and how to create collection strategies that will help you to maximize your lifetime income. Learn how to coordinate benefits with your spouse and about the lesser known benefits for widows. Learn when it makes sense to delay benefits – and when it does not. Finally, understand the taxation of benefits and how much you can expect to receive if you collect early.

Retirement Distributions
This 2 hour session will teach participants the in's and out's of planning for retirement distributions. Topics will include: RMDs, post death calculations, spousal beneficiaries, non-spousal beneficiaries, successor beneficiaries, Roth IRAs, trust beneficiaries, and more.

Chuck Cavanaugh is the Director of Estate, Business & Financial Planning for the MassMutual NJ-NYC agency based in Bridgewater, NJ. He is responsible for providing clients with a comprehensive client-focused approach to financial planning.

Mr. Cavanaugh has over 25 years of experience in financial services. Combining his unique blend of sales management, strategic marketing, product development, financial advising, and legal expertise, he has developed an exceptionally broad base of knowledge and experience in financial services and planning. Prior to joining MassMutual, he held roles at UBS, Morgan Stanley, Merrill Lynch, and Lincoln Financial. He initially launched his financial career with Hartford Life Insurance Company, where he held several positions, including trusts & estates attorney.

Mr. Cavanaugh received his juris doctorate from Western New England University School of Law and his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Maryland. He holds several professional designations and licenses, including his Series 7, 24, and 66 securities licenses, as well as Life & Health licenses in NJ, NY, CT and FL. He also holds an accreditation as Certified in Long Term Care.

After completing the rigorous requirements to attain her CFP® designation, Eleanor pursued even more advanced coursework in the area of Social Security benefits and Medicare. With 10,000 baby boomers turning 65 every day during the next two decades, Eleanor believes it’s crucial for clients to understand their Social Security benefits.[1] She is a frequent speaker on Social Security and Medicare to various groups, including professionals such as CPAs and lawyers.   Eleanor graduated from Rutgers University with a BA in Economics, and attained her CFP® designation in February 2012.
