With a membership of more than 15,000, the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants (NJSCPA) is the largest professional organization serving the needs of Garden State CPAs. Representing the majority of New Jersey CPAs in public practice, industry, government and education, the NJSCPA supports members in fulfilling their professional responsibilities and achieving success through leadership, education, networking and community involvement initiatives.
We offer more than 350 continuing education programs annually to help members increase their value to their clients, companies or organizations and to help them meet their continuing education requirements.
The NJSCPA also represents the profession’s interests before government, regulatory bodies and other organizations. We’re active in the state legislature, monitoring and responding to issues that affect CPAs and their clients.
Additionally, we’re committed to promoting public confidence in the integrity, objectivity, competence and professionalism of CPAs and the quality of their services. To carry out this mission, the Society has identified three key image enhancement objectives:
- To increase the public's - particularly the identified target audiences' - awareness of the CPA's qualifications and the value, range and uniqueness of CPA services.
- To mobilize Society members in communicating consistent messages about the CPA profession to specific target audiences.
- To position the NJSCPA as a valuable, cost-effective professional membership association dedicated to serving the interests of all CPAs.
Founded in 1898, the NJSCPA is governed by a Board of Directors, managed by a full-time staff, guided by a strategic plan and constantly striving to serve the needs of New Jersey CPAs. Eleven chapters and numerous committees and interest groups made up of hundreds of CPA volunteers develop programs and address issues to help all members be successful professionals.
